Work related learning forms part of the school curriculum, taking an increasingly prominent role as student’s progress through the school. At key stage 4 students are given the opportunity to gain vocational qualifications such as: construction, hairdressing, motor vehicle and child care. These courses are taught within our own satellite centers which include a fully functional garage a designated child care centre  and Pent Valley’s own commercial training  hair dressing salon. Student’s vocational learning is combined with practical, hands on experiences in real working environments within their subject industry. In addition to this, year 11 students have a personalized timetable enabling them to access work experience, depending upon their progression in other areas of the curriculum.

INVESTORS IN CAREER AWARD

I would like to share with the wider Pent Valley Technology College community that the school is in a position to proceed with obtaining the Investors in Careers Award.

Stage 1 requires the school to demonstrate commitment to Careers education and Guidance and the Investors in Careers standard.
