Once again, we are delighted that Pent Valley students have achieved the best results in the school’s history, continuing the trend of sustained improvement in GCSE results over the last four years. While nationally GCSE results have improved, Pent Valley’s improvement has far exceeded the national picture. 77% of Year 11 students achieved 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C, which means that Pent Valley students have now exceeded the national average result of about 72%.
60 students achieved 10 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C 37% of Year 11 students achieved 5 or more GCSEs including English and Mathematics at grades A*-C, which continues the steady improvement seen over the past four years, and far exceeds the government target of 30% We would like to offer our congratulations to our Year 11 students for their hard work which has given them the GCSE success they deserved, and look forward to them continuing to achieve in our Sixth Form, which will have more students in 2010-11 than ever before. Students with particular acheivements Elliot Langston achieved 18 GCSEs at C+, 8 of these at A/ A* Lauren Shrewsbury, and Jessica Shrewsbury both achieved 16 GCSEs at C+, 9 of these at A or A* Emma Cheshire achieved 14 GCSEs at C+, 10 of these at A/A* Nicola Taylor achieved 14 GCSEs at C+, 9 of these at A/A*
