For the third year in succession Pent Valley Technology College has achieved the best results the school has ever achieved. Over the past two years the level of improvement has been recognised by Government bodies and the school has been officially named as one of the most improved in England and Wales. The 2009 GCSE results have shown an even greater rate of improvement than in the previous two years so the school is very confident of receiving national recognition once again. Especially pleasing was the fact that the school has also exceeded the Government target of at least 30% of students achieving 5 good GCSE passes including English and Mathematics. The school is very pleased that despite the Government having set a deadline of 2011 to meet this target Pent Valley has exceeded this two years ahead of this deadline. We have this year also been celebrating improved A Level results which have resulted in a higher number of students successfully gaining University places. Overall we are very proud of the hard work and dedication shown by staff and students which have resulted in such a fantastic set of results. We are also very grateful to the families of the students who have continued to support their young people and indeed the school throughout the year. |
